Uniquely woven in 15 remote settlements in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, these traditional natural grass and reed bowls, are colored using natural dyes. The women who make them earn much-needed income and learn about social issues as well as financial budgeting.

Bridge for Africa harnesses the outstanding artistic talent of African artisans to create marketable products for sale in the U.S., thus promoting the dignity of work and self-sufficiency in Africa. A member of the Fair Trade Federation, the group has established long-term relationships with rural African crafting groups to create true partnerships and focuses on marketing, distribution, education and product development. At least 50% of the product price is paid to the artisan groups and the remainder of the proceeds is reinvested in community development, job creation and training initiatives.
